Google SERPS Going Visual
It seems Google is testing a new design for its "local pack," the local maps focused search results returned when there is local intent in the query.
The local pack usually contains business name, location, reviews and a map, but several SEOs are reporting seeing logos in the local pack. While this is likely only a test (it's not easy to replicate the same results), it could be a sign that Google's SERPs are going more visual, and likely pulling the content from Google+. Others, however, believe that Google may have indexed a portion of the page it essentially determined to be the logo (though there is not direct evidence to that).

Google, however, has tested images in the search results before in this manner, so showing thumbnails for hotels and restaurants that have been found on the website would not be out of the realm of possibility.
