Got Gmail? - March 2012 'Net Briefs
The Gmail offline app has been helpful for Web professionals, and Google is making improvements that will make it even handier. Recently, the company updated its Web app for the Chrome browser that provides settings controls for HTML5 offline main storage, so users can store 7, 14 or 31 days of past email offline. Then, the next time they connect to the Web, that work is synced. Also included is the ability to store attachments for offline use and enable Gmail keyboard shortcuts offline, as well as some tweaks that will fix a few bugs. At the moment, the Gmail offline app is only available in the Chrome Web Store, but existing users will automatically receive the update.
