Groupon Updates Breadcrumb POS with Redundancy Mode
Daily deal vendor Groupon updated its point-of-sale app dubbed Breadcrumb (iPad only) in May of this year, making the once restaurant-only app offering available for all local merchants.
In an effort to keep challenging its mobile payment competition - including such names as Square and PayPal - Groupon announced that additional features have now been added including the ability to take payments when offline. That could be particularly appealing for small businesses with spotty wi-fi connections that can't afford to stop payment processing.
Other new features and additions of the Breadcrumb app, include:
- Retailers can now search for inventory items or "sweep" through thanks to a new "canvas" menu.
- Item modifiers are now included, making it possible to sell multiple items, add notes, or order an extra.
- Retailers can also redeem Groupons and track deals directly inside the Breadcrumb POS.
- The addition of "Starter Menus" give retailers using the Breadcrumb POS a way to get started quickly with a solution customized to their business operations.
