Groupon Users Stay Classy with Reserve Offers on Mobile

Groupon expanded its suite of premium offerings in early July, announcing Groupon Reserve, a digital destination powered by reservation engine Savored ( an acquisition it made in September 2012), that the company hopes will further secure its spot as a leader in online deals.

This week Groupon announced that it is further expanding Groupon Reserve and will the channel mobile, enabling iPhone users to book reservations at restaurants in ten cities at discounts - without requiring pre-payment or vouchers.

"Since the launch of Reserve, we have seen a significant increase in bookings, and adding the capability to the Groupon mobile app will make it even easier for more customers to reserve a great dining experience at some of the best restaurants in their city," said Ben McKean, general manager of Groupon Reserve reservations. "Reserve on mobile gives our customers even more options for great things to do wherever they are."

Groupon won't be stopping with restaurants, of course. The company indicated that future inventory on Reserve could include offerings from top beauty, product, travel and entertainment brands, as well as similar reservations capabilities for spas, salons and hotels.
