Happy Birthday Flickr
Now that Facebook’s birthday celebration is winding down, it is time to celebrate the other social network turning ten this month – Flickr.
The image sharing service has become very popular over the last decade, with nearly 2 million groups sharing 1 million photos every day according to a blog post from the company.
“We were the first significant online community where you could store, organize, tag, and share digital photos,” the blog post states. “Before Flickr, there was no widespread way to share your photos with friends, family and the wider public.”
It is also important to note that Flickr has made some big announcements as of late. In December, for example, the photo sharing site made it easier for web professionals to embed publicly shared images and videos from the Flickr platform onto their websites. Plus, back in May, the company also started offering users a free terabyte of space.
