Hey Yahoo...What's the Flurry?

Considering one in every five people in the world own a smartphone, the mobile market is hotter than it has ever been.

Even though Internet giant Yahoo is continuing to cut services it has not slowed down in trying to diversify its portfolio. Yahoo's latest acquisition is of a mobile analytics and advertising company called Flurry.

Instead of dissolving or restructuring Flurry, Yahoo will provide them with increased financial backing and technological support so Flurry can continue to develop and nurture new and existing relationships with developers. 

The mobile focused company was founded in 2008 and sees app activity on 1.4 billion devices per month and works with developers in 150 countries.

“As part of Yahoo, Flurry will continue to serve the application developer community in the way we always have, only better,” said President and CEO of Flurry Simon Khalaf. “With Yahoo, we will have access to more resources to speed up the delivery of great products that can help app developers build better apps, reach the right users, and explore new revenue opportunities.”
