How Will Apple Use Topsy Tech?
Social analytics company Topsy was acquired this week by none other than Apple - for a reported $200 million.
The solution allows customers to search, explore and analyze over 425 billion tweets from 2006 to the present in order to identify trends. As far as what Apple products will benefit from the acquisition of Topsy, the list is long.
Apple could use the data to help advertisers improve the relevancy of display ads, boosting revenue Apple’s ad platforms. Apple could also use the acquisition to improve suggestions it makes for mobile applications, or help Siri provide better real-time information
