Inboundwriter Now Available on Mobile Devices

Posted on 6.26.2012

InboundWriter, which is a content optimization Web application that is designed specifically for writers, is now available on the iPad and other mobile devices thanks to a recent HTML5 overhaul.

The Web application was rewritten in the HTML5 standard in order to eliminate the need of Adobe Flash, which isn't compatible with some mobile devices – including the iPad. Not only will this platform now work on mobile devices, but its new architecture will also be able to support the rapid release of new functionality, as well as be able to more deeply integrate both search and social intelligence into the writing process.

“iPad support was very highly requested by our users since we debuted InboundWriter last year,” says Jay McCarthy, VP of marketing at InboundWriter. “We’ve observed a trend where writers and marketers are starting to replace laptops with a combination of tablets and wireless keyboards; hence, we invested in an HTML5 overhaul early on because this is where we see interactive Internet-based applications like ours headed.”

The platform’s latest HTML5 release also includes usability enhancements, such as dozens of new formatting options and HTML editing, improved preservation of formatting when cutting and pasting from other products into InboundWriter, optimized resolution and aspect ratio for tablet support, a streamlined content lab for ease of consumption, added flexible screen configuration options to better match user preferences, a tighter integration of the platform’s social sharing monitoring feature Topic Buzz, a new document summary view and an integration of TinyMCE, which is a Javascript WYSIWYG Editor.
