iPhone Claims Top Mobile Browser

Posted on 3.18.2008
Apple's iPhone Safari browser has taken the market share as the top mobile browser in the U.S. StatCounter tracks over nine billion page-loads from over two million websites each month. They found that the iPhone holds a 0.18% market share in the U.S., good for the top spot among all mobile browsers. The mobile Web has been lamented for years for not living up to its hype. Is this a sign that it's finally arrived?

In the UK, the iPhone is number two (0.06%), behind Nokia (0.15%).
