iPhone Competitor Wins Best in Show

Posted on 4.08.2008
CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas awarded the Sprint and Samsung new device, Instinct, best in show in the Emerging Technology Award competition. The device was also named "Most Innovative Product at CTIA Wireless 2008" by the editors of LAPTOP, a mobile tech magazine.

What's so special about the device? A few things stand out - full touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, visual voicemail, the ability to listen to music while surfing the Internet or playing games and localized tactile feedback, called haptics, which allow the virtual QWERTY keypad and other operations to become a sensory experience. While pricing details are not yet available, Sprint does offer an "everything" plan including unlimited data starting at $69.99 per month. The device is expected to be available in June and compete directly with the iPhone - which perhaps unfortunately for Samsung and Sprint is planning the release of a next generation iPhone around the same time.
