Shopkick, a popular shopping rewards application, now allows users to make purchases from directly within the app.

With this update, users will earn "kicks" (rewards) for making purchases through the app in addition to receiving kicks by visiting brick-and-mortar locations, interacting with items and making purchases in-stores. Currently, in-app purchases are available through more than 30 stores, including Target, Macy's, Best Buy, Old Navy and Urban Outfitters.

It is also important to note that users can favorite items and save them into customizable collections called "books". And, by "liking" favorite items, users are automatically reminded upon walking into a store where these items are sold. The app can also be leveraged to connect people who have similar tastes so that they can discover and share products with each other. Shopkick is available for free as both an iOS and Android app.

"Shopping happens when you feel like it - whether in the store, at home on the couch, or on the train to work. We want to make sure shopkick is there, wherever and whenever, to make shopping more fun and rewarding," said Cyriac Roeding, CEO and co-founder of shopkick. "We combined shopkick's in-store functionality with curated product books and the ability to earn kicks for buying right in the app to make every type of shopping experience better."
