Incorporate Analytics to See the Numbers Behind the App

Posted on 8.19.2014

A world without analytics would be one of disarray.

Without analytics there would be no way to tell how many people downloaded an app, made a purchase, how many times an app crashed or even how many times a user has engaged with an app.

To help provide developers with more analytics New Relic has announced an expansion of their partnership with Typesafe.

Through their expanded partnership, users will have access to New Relic’s application performance monitoring (APM) tools while using Typesafe’s application development tool called Activator. With the inclusion of New Relics APM tools, developers will be able to get analytics akin to individual page load speed and the speed of transactions made on the app.

Typesafe Activator, for those that do not know, allows developers to build and test applications on their desktop instead of having to be logged into a specific website. Activator also updates in real-time eliminating the need for developers to wait on updates to be installed before they can test their apps again.

“Adding real-time monitoring on the fly from New Relic is a huge productivity boon for developers,” said Hywel Evans, director of alliances at Typesafe.

“We think this integration of APM ISVs demonstrates the flexibility and potential of Typesafe Activator and really paves the way for future commercial integrations to give developers more control and confidence as they create Reactive applications on the Typesafe platform.”
