INFOGRAPHIC: The Value of Online Reviews

A new study from Trustpilot is shedding light on the value of online reviews, revealing that 79 percent of businesses believe that online reviews play an important role in influencing consumer decision making.

The study, which is drawn from two surveys commissioned by Trustpilot, found that 69 percent of businesses are currently collecting and displaying customer reviews. Out of the businesses displaying reviews, 59 percent claim that they display the reviews on their website, while 34 percent display the reviews on social networks and 7 percent display the reviews in-stores.

It is important to note, however, that negative reviews remain a concern for more than 50 percent of business respondents. That said, the consumer survey found that 83 percent of reviews written in the past year have been positive and that 15 percent of consumers say they are more likely to do business with a company that responded to a negative review and dealt with it successfully.
