Into the Digital Mine; Digging into Twitter Insights with gShift
Search engine optimization software provider gShift has released an interesting new social keyword research module that will likely prove ideal for content marketers looking to gather data from the conversations a brand’s audience is having on Twitter.
The gShift report provides social keyword research metrics including the frequency of conversations for a keyword, the influencers of a keyword, hashtags used in association with a keyword, associated terms used with a keyword, and related content.
The one issue in solutions like the one provided by gShift and others is that tweets are rarely (if ever) intent-driven, meaning (at least in my experience) that the path to conversion from this data will be, in some cases, exceedingly long. Worth the price tag? Probably, but most will be able to do this type of social data mining manually - although it is obviously far less efficient and comprehensive.
