Is Bitcoin the Answer to Shopping Cart Abandonment?

Posted on 11.02.2014

As the holiday season quickly approaches e-commerce retailers must double and triple check that their websites are ready for the mass influx of consumers that the holidays inevitably bring.

While it may be one of that last things consumers see on websites, it’s vital that retailers not forget about optimizing their checkout process.

GoCoin, a processing solution for Bitcoin and other emerging digital currencies, has recently announced a new partnership with Shopify.

To help combat shopping cart abandonment it’s important that retailers do everything they can to simplify and streamline the checkout process. Thanks to the new partnership, GoCoin will provide Shopify’s retailers with the ability to accept digital currencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin during the checkout process. By enabling their sites to accept Bitcoin, retailers open themselves up to further sales opportunities from around the world thanks to the worldwide raech of the digital currency.

Retailers that elect to leverage GoCoin will be charged 1 percent on all transactions using the service.

"Thousands of cryptocurrencies have entered the market since bitcoin's inception, and new altcoins are launched every day," says Steve Beauregard, co-founder and CEO of GoCoin. "GoCoin helps online merchants avoid shopping cart abandonment by quickly and easily offering the latest digital currencies as payment options."
