Leading Tech Companies are Fueling Display Advertising

Website Magazine’s January issue about 2011 Web trends predicted that bold and innovative new technologies would fuel the resurgence of online display advertising this year.

It’s happening, by way of leading tech companies like Microsoft and their HTML5-based unit for tablets and smartphones that connect five panels into a 300 x 3,000 interactive film strip. The early winner, however, may be Vibrant’s new VIA Dynamic technology that will give new meaning to the term “contextual relevancy”. The Vibrant ad units have live feeds that can reword advertisers’ ad copy to better match the content of a Web page, and the ads can change colors, fonts and calls-to-action to fit their surroundings in real time.
