Learn How Your Brand Trends on Instagram

Posted on 12.02.2015

User generated content (UGC) marketing provider Chute has unveiled a new app to give marketers a better understanding of how their brand, competitors and industry hashtags appear on Instagram.

The app, dubbed the UGC Brand Trends Report, enables marketers to search for any keyword with the nine categories to see the total volume of photos shared during a two-week period as well as the most influential content creators, popular photos, where the photos are coming from and other important topics trending within their search. The nine categories include travel, babies, pets, fashion, beauty, food, health/fitness, sports and one wild card conversation based on current events and trending topics, like Black Friday.

“Last month there were nearly 4 million travel photos and 13 million fashion photos shared on Instagram. These are major conversations consumer brands want to both be part of, and better understand. But most brands don’t know if and how their brand fits into them,” said Ranvir Gujral, Chute co-founder and CEO. “The UGC Brand Trend Report is a free tool designed to give marketers a snapshot of how their brand is perceived on Instagram, as well as provide directionality on the type of images performing well and the people creating them.”

It is important to note that marketers can run as many searches as they want and can sign up to receive bi-weekly email updates of their brand reports. To leverage the solution, marketers must select the category most relevant to his/her brand and then run a search for a brand or campaign hashtag. Chute tracks popular hashtags within each category, such as #OOTD (outfit of the day) within the fashion category. Then, Chute automatically narrows the broad conversation from everything fashion down to only those images shared with the desired keyword. Chute also sorts the images by popularity, location, other related hashtags and more.
