Link Disavow and Google Rankings
Internet marketing company Ignite Visibility released the results of a study on whether using Google’s link disavow tool could result in increased traffic and rankings.
While the study was performed on only 10 websites (read the full report here), Ignite Visiblity believes a strong correlation exists. 9 of the 10 websites it examined saw a jump in both webmaster tools search queries and organic traffic from Google.
There’s still some debate about whether disavowing links will result in greater SEO performance on the whole, but Ignite Visibility’s study, however limited, does provide some evidence that the practice (of cleaning up a link profile) when done strategically and thoughtfully can produce positive results.
