LinkedIn Gets Data-Centric with Bright Buy

Professional social network LinkedIn announced the acquisition of Bright, a job-matching and "data insight" start up, for $120 million.

LinkedIn, which already offers similar products and features (e.g. LinkedIn Recruiter), will likely use the further extend its data-drive approach to connecting job seekers and employers.

Parker Barrile, LinkedIn's VP of Product, said the deal was a perfect fit for the two firms, saying "We’re both passionate about connecting talent with opportunity at massive scale and obsessed with increasing the effectiveness of the job seeking and recruiting processes."
