Local SEO with Geocoding
It takes more than including your city name to optimize your website for
local search. Many SEO's are routinely making specific addresses (primarily the
inclusion of city and state), zip (postal) codes and more descriptive
information about a sites geographic location (street address) available on
custom landing pages in order to place higher on search result pages. The
verdict is still out on whether the approach works all that well but it is
certainly a viable approach and should be seriously considered. If you want to
target specific locales consider (in addition to traditional postal data) a
lesser known but equally viable approach in Geocoding (longitude and latitude
coordinates). You can find a complete list of this information at
Census.gov -
or use the following tool to help you locate your
latitude and longitude for your
specific postal address. If anything, it's an interesting test.
In case you want to drop by and say hello, the offices of Website Services
