Magento Gives Biz Shoppers a Consumer Experience
Business shoppers are increasingly seeking out a commerce-like experience when buying products and services for their businesses. In fact, business buyers are willing to pay up to 30 percent more for a product or service that offers an improved customer experience.
Magento is ready to help B2B companies "consumerize" their sites, as the eBay Enterprise company launched its B2B Program this week.
The launch of the Magento B2B Program is part of the company’s effort to expand its investment in the B2B market.
“Distributors and manufacturers favor the Magento platform because they can curate consumer-like experiences for their buyers and still take advantage of Magento’s flexibility to customize any aspect of the order flow to match their unique business requirements,” said Mark Lavelle, senior vice president and general manager of commerce technologies, eBay Enterprise. “These factors, combined with our fast time-to-market and the global reach of the Magento ecosystem, are the reasons why we’re the top choice for B2B applications and why we’re continuing to invest heavily in this area.”
It is important to note that various B2B expert partners were tapped through Magento’s Partner Initiative to help launch the first phase of the Magento B2B Program, including Alpine Consulting, Demac Media, eWave, Gorilla Group, netz98, Perficient, Redboc and X2i.
"Magento Enterprise Edition has a robust set of APIs that make it easy to integrate with other external business systems and adapt to changing business needs,” said Kaushal Shah, Magento ecommerce practice leader at Perficient. "About 40 percent of Perficient's Magento implementations have been for B2B companies. The customers we work with, including Gemaire and BSN Sports, value Magento for its state of the art commerce capabilities to create the consumer-like experiences B2B buyers expect.”
