Make Smarter Decisions with Survey Insights

Posted on 7.01.2013

A new online survey tool from Web applications provider Zoho can be used to gather customer opinions and make smarter business decisions.

The tool, dubbed Zoho Survey, lets users create, publish and report on the results of online surveys. Users have the ability to choose from a variety of customizable themes and share their surveys through the tool’s campaign management functions and social integrations.

Zoho Survey can be leveraged by both professionals and beginners, as the app features an easy-to-use interface and includes pre-built templates for conducting surveys in customer satisfaction, education, human resources, marketing and marketing research, among other areas. Plus, users can build their own surveys with a variety of question types, such as multiple choice, ratings and text boxes, as well as can add custom logic at the question and page level, which allows users to present relevant questions to respondents. Moreover, surveys can be created and published on the go with the iPad Survey Builder.

Once a survey is created, it can be previewed to see how it appears on standard Web browsers and on mobile devices. In addition, Zoho Survey automatically renders surveys for optimal display regardless of the target device. Another noteworthy feature is the tool’s collaborative survey review, which allows survey creators to invite colleagues to review and comment on a survey before it is published. Not only does this feature allow reviewers to add comments to each survey question, but it also allows the survey creator to see those comments in real time.

It is also important to note that Zoho Surveys integrates with Zoho Campaigns, which enables users to easily email surveys to their contacts. Likewise, users can send surveys via MailChimp, which is also integrated with Zoho Survey. In addition, the tool offers numerous built-in reports and charts to help users gain insights into survey results. In fact, users can view aggregated responses or create filters and cross-tabs for further analysis. Data can be viewed in Zoho Sheet or exported to Google Drive, as well as exported in standard formats like .CSV or .PDF.

Zoho Survey is also integrated with Google Apps and is available in the Google Apps Marketplace. The tool is available immediately, with the Free edition including unlimited surveys and up to 15 questions and 150 responses per survey. Additionally, the Standard edition is $19 per month and comes with unlimited surveys, unlimited questions and up to 2,000 responses per month, while the Professional edition is $180 per year with unlimited surveys, unlimited questions and unlimited responses. Currently, users can take advantage of a promotion that allows them to refer three friends to Zoho Survey in exchange for a free three-month subscription to the platform’s Standard edition. If users refer up to 12 friends, however, they can receive up to 12 months for free.
