Making Mobile Games More Social
The introduction of smartphones into the world not only revolutionized how consumers could talk to one another or how they could surf the Web any place that has cell reception, but also brought about a new era of gaming.
Viber, a global messaging app, has announced the acquisition of Nextpeer, a provider of cross platform social layers for mobile game developers.
For those unfamiliar with Nextpeer, the company enables game developers to add multiplayer features and social functionality to any game. One of the most interesting multiplayer features that Nextpeer boasts takes effect if there are not enough players online at that moment. Through its own recording algorithm, Nextpeer is able to simulate player actions and skill level so players are not able to the difference between playing another user or a bot.
