Marketers Ready Videos for LinkedIn

Video has become big business in the feeds of popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter but it appears the format is also being embraced by a more professional enterprise these days in LinkedIn.

The Microsoft-owned network is reportedly introducing a new feature that will enable any user to upload a video to the site through LinkedIn's iOS or Android mobile app.

LinkedIn hopes the availability of the feature will encourage users to create videos on their professional work (e.g. product demonstrations) and submit it to the network.

The company actually introduced the program on a limited basis early this year (2017). According to LinkedIn, videos from the limited release are already getting shared 20 times more than any other content.

Last year, LinkedIn launched a Quora-style Q&A service with Influencers on the site that marked its first foray into providing a more dynamic experience.

The potential in this for LinkedIn is obviously going to be what it can do with it in the future - like sell advertising on those videos or take advantage of its acquisition and provide its networks' participants an opportunity to sell courses or educational seminars.
