Marketplace-Only Sellers: Quickly Launch a Web Store

Posted on 8.16.2015

Selling on multiple online marketplaces is challenging and complex, but many retailers rely on the product visibility from those channels to make a living. In fact, 63 percent of sellers only sell on marketplaces.

While the majority of these same sellers are satisfied with their current channel management tool, 72 percent of them don't use one at all. For retailers looking for one account to manage listings from, Sellbrite is worth a look, especially for those retailers interested in launching their own Web store.

Recently, Sellbrite announced a major update to its integration with Bigcommerce, enabling users to populate a Bigcommerce Web store with the products in their Sellbrite catalog or from their listings on marketplaces like eBay and Etsy, as well as Amazon. Sellbrite gives marketplace-only sellers the power to quickly populate and launch their own Web store on the Bigcommerce platform, and existing Bigcommerce merchants the ability to manage their products and marketplace listings from a single interface.

The benefits of launching a Web store are plenty, as retailers can develop a brand indentity and develop longer customer relationships, but the downsides are that marketplaces are rich with digital features like personalization that modern shoppers have come to expect, so a Web store lacking a good user experience will turn customers away. By launching with an e-commerce platform like Bigcommerce or others, however, many of the e-commerce best practices and modern conveniences are built in.
