Posted on 12.02.2014

Mobile and email are two of the most important channels to businesses today.

With consumers spending more time than ever on their mobile devices as well as businesses sending more emails than ever, mobile email apps have become a hot commodity.

Acompli, a mobile email app, has officially announced they have been acquired by technology giant Microsoft.

Acompli provides email apps for both iOS and Android devices and supports a variety of email services including Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo and Microsoft Exchange. The free email app also enables users to access multiple accounts as well as files stored on Google Drive and Dropbox. Also, thanks to their unique Focused Inbox feature that leans user’s habits over time, users no longer have to sift through junk mail in order to find the most relevant and important emails.

“I’m incredibly excited to announce that Acompli has been acquired by Microsoft. Our team and products will become part of Microsoft’s ambitious effort to reimagine productivity for the mobile era,” states Acompli CEO Javier Soltero in a blog post.

“18 months ago we started building a team and a product around the idea that we could make mobile email better. Today that journey continues as part of a larger organization with the technology, talent, and market reach that will help us take the vision of Acompli to hundreds of millions of mobile users across the world.”

All services and accounts will continue to work and be supported by the Acompli team.
