Microsoft Releases Windows Phone Update with New App Store

As mobile phone makers look to acquire new consumers it’s vital they provide an intuitive way for consumers to find and purchase new apps.

Microsoft Windows has recently released its latest Windows Phone update called Build 10080 which includes a variety of new features.

One of the most important new features thanks to the update is the beta edition of the Windows Store in Windows 10 for phones. Designated as Store (Beta) on phones, the new feature enables users to browse, search as well as download new apps. Users will be able to pay for apps using credit cards, gift cards and PayPal. Other items that will be available for download in the Store are movies and TV shows which after being purchased will be able to be accessed across all of a user’s devices. Microsoft states that although music not able to be purchased in the current iteration of the Store it will be added to future versions.

Other new features added with the update include an Xbox app for Windows 10, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote Preview apps, a new camera app as well as a video preview app.
