Millennials Prefer Snapchat Over Twitter
Snapchat is among the three top social media mobile apps used by millennials according to a new study from comScore.
The report reveals that Facebook is the most used social app (75.6%) among the 18-34 year old age group, followed by Instagram (43.1%) and Snapchat (32.9%). Trailing those three apps are some pretty big names in the social space, including Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.
ComScore’s data shows strong growth for the ephemeral messaging app, as Snapchat’s audience penetration among smartphone-using adults was at just 12.1 percent back in November. Since then, the app’s penetration among smartphone-using adults has increased to 18 percent. ComScore notes this is significant because both Facebook and Myspace began to see their user growth accelerate once they reached 15-20 percent market penetration.
