Miva Releases In-Line Text Ads

Miva, a leader in the performance based marketing arena,  has launched Miva InLine - a new pay per click offering that triggers a sponsored ad unit to display upon a user's mouseover of a text link. Similar in concept to Vibrant Media's IntelliTXT, MIVA takes it a step further and includes links to related content on the publishers site above the ads. According to ClickZ, InLine ads will be included in any ad buy across the Miva network, but keyword advertisers will not be able to opt out of the program.

While I personally don't really care for this type of advertising, Miva has put a decent twist on a questionable advertising tactic. The twist is that since the ads will be preceded by relevant content from the publishers network, more ads on the whole will be shown to website visitors (if they click through).
