Mobile Takeover - Mobile Minute

Posted on 9.25.2011

In an unremarkable turn of events, a new study by IDC tells us that by 2015 more people in the U.S. will access the Internet using mobile devices than those using desktop computers. Much of this is attributed to faster 4G network speeds and increased coverage, which makes surfing the Web on a mobile device comparable to a computer while being readily available almost all of the time. The study predicts that mobile Web use will grow annually at a rate of 16.6 percent between 2010 and 2015, while the number of total Internet users around the world will go from 2 billion to 2.7 billion — or about 40 percent of the global population.
