Multi-Step Zaps from Zapier
Application integration solution Zapier (similar in many ways to IFTTT) has rolled out a new feature that will enable users to create 'zaps' that perform several actions at once.
The new multi-step zap feature will essentially make it possible to extend the functionality of Zapier by letting users connect several different tasks in order - as opposed to just one. Zapier users are sure to be quite excited by this development because it takes automation to an entirely new and better level.
Zapier can now, for example, let users send a trigger when someone fills in a form, look up the individual in a CRM, then upload an attached file to cloud storage provider like Amazon or Azure, drop the results in Google spreadsheet and then post and update in a Slack team account.
Zapier also introduced two of its own apps this week. The new Code app allows users to actually write code to get exactly what they want out of a Zap, and the Formatter app offers tools for adjusting data, such as a date.
Zapier indicated that it tested multi-step Zaps with 1,000 customers who came up with a wide range of setups. Multi-Step Zaps are available for free in a 14-day trial. After that, it will only be available if users sign up for a premium plan, which costs $20 or more each month.
