Need to Know: 4 New Premium Ad Formats
Display advertisers are excitedly looking forward to the upcoming holiday shopping seaso - particularly those using retargeting campaigns as they could provide a substantial edge or bump in performance over advertisers previous years' campaign metrics.
In advance of Advertising Week, AOL introduced several new ad formats that are worth a look.
The new products include a "reactive" wallpaper/takeover unit that transforms as users scroll, a persistent loft unit that travels down a Web page and opens up to display video or other multimedia elements (see a live example at KitchenDaily.com), a multi-screen unit built with HTML5, and finally, another format which is a propritary version of an IAB Mobile Rising Star unit.
The new display units are part of AOL's Wanamaker Place Project, its ad innovation platform and architecture which encompasses a portfolio of ad products spanning rich media, native ads, mobile and multi-screen units.
