Net Briefs: A Truly Social Move

LinkedIn recently launched another feature to further establish itself as the Web’s premier social network for business professionals. Companies can now share status updates in the same manner that individuals can by posting messages and distributing media up to 500 characters long. The update provides businesses with a way to further engage users through their LinkedIn homepage feeds, and it gives professionals an additional resource to keep up with new job openings, personnel changes and other news from the companies they follow. The new Company Follow feature was first announced in 2010, but the status updates and the ability to comment and share directly with businesses only became available in October 2011.
