DEMAND BETTER HOSTING:
75% of respondents to 451 Research’s recent "Voice of the Enterprise: Hosting and Cloud Managed Services (Organizational Dynamics)" study  indicate they are willing to pay a premium for enhancements to their hosting and cloud services.

AUTOMATE YOUR AD CAMPAIGNS: Acquisio released a  report (PDF) that suggests machine learning algorithms can improve paid-search marketing performance dramatically versus accounts that don’t use them.

E-COMMERCE WITHOUT PEOPLE: Digital commerce solution Moxie Software launched Kbot, a knowledge bot that will enables companies to guide their customers through the entire e-commerce journey, without the need for human assistance.

AI COMES TO SEARCH: Microsoft outlined ways in which Bing Ads and other properties (perhaps LinkedIn) continue to integrate artificial intelligence into their search offerings, including support for conversational search.

NEW ADWORDS TOOLS: Google announced that new merchants tools are now available for Google AdWords customers, just in time for the upcoming holiday shopping season. 

MARKET PENETRATION: An Advertiser Perceptions study revealed that 78 percent of marketers said that a recent digital or mobile campaign included ads that ran on more than 50 sites (23 percent of those marketers said they purchased ads on more than 1,000 sites). 

EMAIL IS BACK: New retail industry data from Adobe Digital Insights reveals that after two years of declining numbers, email now drives at least one quarter of visits to retail websites.

PER-SECOND BILLING: Mere days after a similar announcement from Amazon Web Services, Google announced that its cloud service will also offer per-second billing. 

PERSONALIZATION MATTERS: Personalization provider Sailthru has released its first Retail Personalization Index, scoring customer experiences for 100 US and UK brands between April and August of this year.
