New A/B Testing Tool for Mobile Apps

A/B testing is one of the tried and true methods that companies and developers use in order to gauge consumer response to things like new products, marketing campaigns and changes to apps.

Yet, in order to fully leverage the information received from A/B testing developers need to be able to combine it with powerful analytics.

Y Combinator, the company which provided analytics startup Mixpanel with initial funding, has announced Mixpanel released a new A/B testing tool for mobile apps.

The new A/B testing tool allows developers to quickly build experiments with an in-browser editor that lets them change any part of their users interface with no need to enter any code. However, if developers want to change something in the core of the game like how fast a character can move, they can do so with Mixpanel’s simple Tweaks API.

Once developers decide on the variations of the app, they can use information already collected by Mixpanel on their user base to select who is going to receive each version of the app. After developers send their tests to users they will receive vital analytics including who returned to the app and the conversion rate of the test apps compared to the original.
