New Businesses Tools Coming to Instagram
Instagram has unveiled new tools to help businesses grow their presence on its platform, including business profiles, insights and the ability to promote posts.
For starters, business profiles are a free feature for accounts that want to be recognized as a business on the social network. Business profiles make it simple for users to get directions to brick-and-mortar business locations, as well as to get in touch with businesses via phone calls, texts and email. Plus, business profiles unlock access to insights and give businesses the ability to promote their posts.
The new business insights give businesses access to actionable information about their followers and posts. Plus, all of this information is available within Instagram's mobile app. The data from Instagram’s insights can help businesses optimize their content strategy for better performance on the social network. Lastly, the ability to promote posts helps businesses turn well-performing posts into ads to improve discovery and engagement on the social network. Businesses also have the ability to select a target audience for their promoted posts.
“With so many companies using Instagram, and many people on the platform interacting with them, there was a desire from our business community to do more. So we listened. And, after hundreds of interviews with businesses, three key needs became clear—stand out, get insights and find new customers,” Instagram said in its announcement.
The new business tools will be rolling out in the coming months to users in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. That said, Instagram notes that the tools will be available to all regions by the end of the year.
