New Fees for Fulfillment by Amazon
Amazon notified merchants last week that it will adjust storage fees for sellers who use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).
Amazon will actually keep the pricing unchanged from the months of January to September and change in October through December.
Why the change? Amazon wants to make sure that sellers have popular items in stock at Amazon warehouses during the last two months of the year (the busiest period of the shopping season).
Amazon will also be reducing weight handling fees between November 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to offset higher storage cost for third-party sellers that sell or reduce via their inventory. In addition, FBA will also require sellers to give box content information, including weight and dimensions, unit quantities and expiration dates, to ensure inbound inventory is obtained accurately and quickly.
