New Google Maps, New Ways to Show Ads
Google Maps is not only a helpful technology for people who are searching for nearby places or directions, but also for the many businesses that are discovered with this tool every day.
The new version of Google Maps (which was announced at Google’s I/O developer conference) will be rolling out shortly, providing businesses with new ways to get discovered with ads.
The updated Google Maps aims to offer an immersive and tailored maps experience for each user. Because of this, the search engine is currently testing out new ways to show ads in the offering. For example, the Google blog states that search ads with location extensions can appear directly on the map and just below the search box, while search ads without location extensions can appear just below the search box.
Google notes that just like in the current version of Google Maps, the best way to increase an ad’s visibility is by running search ads with location extensions. Plus, businesses need to ensure that they include search partners in their campaign network settings in order to have their ads appear on Google Maps.
