New Name, New CEO for Smarter Remarketer

From storefronts to social networks, brands need to be able to empower employees and customers to easily speak across channels.

In a move that reflects the company’s expanded solution suite that provides retailers with customer intelligence to enable these cross-channel communications, Smarter Remarketer announced it will now operate as SmarterHQ.

The company also revealed that current Smarter Remarketer President Michael Osborne will now become CEO, while former CEO Howard Bates will operate as Executive Chairman for SmarterHQ.

Osborne joined the company Sept. 2014, and previously served as Chief Revenue Officer for Bazaarvoice where he helped lead the company to its initial public offering in 2012 after growing the business for nearly seven years from less than $1 million to more than $130 million in annual sales. 

“I’m excited to take over this role with SmarterHQ at such a pivotal point in the evolution of the technology,” said Osborne. “When the company first launched, we were squarely focused on providing industry-leading email marketing automation. While that was incredibly successful, we have made a giant leap forward, reinventing ourselves, our technology and how marketers communicate with their customers. We enable our clients to recognize, participate and complete the conversations with their shoppers across every marketing channel; creating more sales, from more customers, more frequently.” 

It should be noted that a new platform is expected from SmarterHQ. The company works with large retail brands like Eddie Bauer, SkyMall, Finish Line, eBags and others.
