No More "Lift & Shift" with AppZero

Anything can happen during an upgrade - legacy applications can be "tempermental" and are often poorly documented which makes moving them such a serious project. Being able to move workloads to new datacenter servers or the cloud fo example could be challenging but it's about to get easier.

AppZero just announced the availability of its Migration Intelligence (MI) Suite, a group of software products that orchestrates, monitors, and migrates Windows Server applications to a newer OS, in a datacenter or in the cloud.

The new software includes an orchestration product (AS-Maestro) that provides a cluster analysis of network servers, a server monitoring product (AZ-Monitor) which discovers and analyzes apps to understand how they are being used (ultimately building migration templates that can be used in planning and prioritizing projects), and an automated container-based migration tool (AZ-Migrate) which eliminates the need to manually reinstall and reconfigure apps or “lift and shift” entire server images using P2V tools.

“We have been fortunate to work closely with smart customers in building MI Suite.” says AppZero CEO Nigel Stokes. “MI has been field tested and offers application portability and agility, helping customers tackle datacenter migrations and application moves to in-house servers or to a cloud.”
