Stop Google Trends Confusion

Posted on 1.11.2007
I've seen more posts of late about "Company A" being more popular than "Company B" and the proof being in Google Trends. The latest of these posts is regarding YouTube being more popular than MySpace. Folks, just to let you know, Google Trends is NOT a reflection of site traffic (unique visits, page views) it is ONLY to "see how often they've been searched for on Google over time" according to the About Google Trends. While it's not being used correctly by many, Google Trends is good for some things, namely to determine seasonal search volume and for competitive analysis.
