Open Source Web Access Recorder
One of the newest entries into the open source sector is from I3plane and if you're into analytics, this one's for you.
The computer software company has released a Webpage Action Recorder and Heatmap Generator packaged together called the Web Access Recorder. Together these tools provide developers with a powerful solution to analyze how visitors spend time on Web pages.
The Webpage Action Recorder allows developers to record and log every action that a visitor makes while on the Web page. This gives developers a huge advantage when trying to examine what parts of the page are most and least effective because they just have to rewind the tape.
The second part of the package, the Heatmap Generator, creates two types of Heatmaps. The first, called Mouse Move Heatmap, allows developers to analyze where visitors look the most by analyzing the tracking path of each visitors mouse. The second, called Window Scroll Heatmap, allows developers to analyze what section of the Web page is getting the most views. This will help developers know which sections of their Web pages are working and which sections need some more work.
This combined package of software is written in Alinous-core programming language (written using HTML and SQL) along with Java.
