Paid Search & the Next President
In one year, Americans will cast their votes for the next president of the United States; but what impact will paid search have on the race?
AdGooroo published new data examining paid search advertising for the 2016 presidential race, finding 110 advertisers spent $3.2 million sponsoring 59 keywords in October alone. The front runners?
With $782,000 in Desktop spend during October, HillaryClinton.com was the biggest Paid Search advertiser, followed by TedCruz.org ($489,000) and BenCarson.com ($433,000).
While Donald Trump was not in the top 10 of paid search spend, his name as keywords generated the most search volume.
Finally, Ben Carson was the leader in paid search clicks in October, generating a 12.24 percent click share (as demonstrated in the graph below).
While there is certainly a long way to go when it comes to who will be the next President, Web professionals know the impact digital spend and best practices will have on the race.
