Performance Marketing for Streamers Comes to Twitch
Game streaming platform Twitch (an Amazon subsidiary) launched its affiliate program several months ago, providing an opportunity for streamers to monetize their participation on the network.
Twitch is now expanding that program by giving its affiliate streamers (those that meet the criteria) a five percent share of any revenue made from direct purchases of games or in-game items through the Twitch store.
To qualified for participation in the program, any user who in the last 30 days has had at least 500 total minutes of broadcasts, seven unique broadcast days, and an average of three concurrent viewers or more, along with at least 50 followers, can apply to join the program.
How will the program work? All an affiliate user has to do is stream a game that’s offered on the store, and a purchase link will automatically show up on the page for viewers watching the stream.
