While the value of photo-sharing social network Instagram for business use is still in doubt, a new snapshot from Simply Measured provides some interesting insights. The company claims that 40 percent of the world’s top-100 brands have a presence on Instagram. The top brand, based on number of followers, is MTV, followed by Starbucks, Burberry, Nike and GE. However, luxury brands (e.g. Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Audi, etc.) tend to have the highest engagement numbers. Jump on this photo platform quickly, it’s developing fast. In fact, at the beginning of the year, the site boasted 15 million users (and was only available on the iPhone); while today, it has 80 million-plus and is also available on Android.
