Pinterest Unveils Flashier Follow Button

Posted on 7.08.2014

Pinerest has unveiled a new Follow button, which aims to help brands obtain more followers without pushing consumers away from their websites.

The new button pops up in a small dialog box and includes a preview of the brand’s latest pins. From the dialog box, consumers can click Follow in order to start following the brand on Pinterest without leaving the website they are browsing on.

“People visit many different websites each day, and it can be hard for them to find and follow those businesses back on Pinterest,” the Pinterest blog states. “Helping people find the latest Pins from their favorite brands and publishers on Pinterest is an important way for them to discover stuff they like.”

According to Pinterest, site owners can add the Follow button to their websites by just copying and pasting a couple lines of code to their pages. Brands that already have the original Follow button set up on their sites, however, aren’t required to do anything to get the new version.
