Popular Crowdsourcing Platform Introduces a New Way to Pay

Posted on 1.06.2015

As innovation continues to increase and creators look to bring their visions to fruition, crowdsourcing platforms will continue to be a hotspot for creators looking to drum up funding.

Kickstarter, a popular crowdsourcing platform, has recently announced a big change to its platform and has changed its payments method from Amazon Payments to Stripe.

According to Kickstarter, the switch from Amazon Payments to Stripe has begun with a few projects already moved to the new payment system - with plans to have all new projects using the new system next week. This change will quicken the setup process for project creators because they will no longer need to set up an Amazon Payments business account. Instead, project creators will simply enter in their bank account details within the Account tab when they are setting up their project on Kickstarter.

Kickstarter stated that the reason for the change was that in 2014 Amazon had decided to discontinue the payment product they had been using.
