Pre-Penguin Link Auditing for SEO Clients
Search engine optimization professionals are expecting Google to unleash a Penguin update by the end of the month, sending (potentially) the search results into flux once again for millions of enterprises.
Since Penguin is more about how links are assessed by the search engine, the methods used to acquire, manage and maintain a successful link initiative become increasingly important in times like these - particularly for those managing many SEO clients simultaneously.
HubShout, a white-label SEO company, has announced the launch of new link audit software, which it hopes will help its re-seller partners prepare for the upcoming update (Google representatives indicated it would come in Q1 2016). While it is certainly not necessary for every SEO initiative to have a software solution in place which audit links, it certainly simplifies the disavow process if and when it gets to that point.
The new Toxic Link Audit Software from HubShout is designed to find low-quality back-links. The solution shows where the website links are coming from and anchor text (as well as anchor text ratios) that is used. Once the "offending" links are identified, the solution supports the creation of a disavow file - which can then be used in conjunction with Google's Disavow Tool.
“We’re pushing our resellers to use the link audit tool now, before the next Penguin update comes," said HubShout CEO Chad Hill. "Our reseller partners have the software in their dashboards; they are empowered to audit their clients’ links and disavow those that are problematic. We’re providing the tools and taking steps to guide them through this process. We’re also reaching out to resellers who have campaigns with a higher than average number of low domain rating links.”
