Preload Web Pages with InstantClick

Posted on 2.19.2014

If your head explodes after reading how awesome this post is, please don't blame me.

So, we all know the importance of fast loading websites, right? Well, the root cause in most cases is latency. A new JavaScript library however cheats the system, by preloading links users are about to click on.

InstantClick, which uses pushState and Ajax (a combination known as pjax), provides some meaningful benefits including:

- browsers don't have to throw nd recompile scripts and stules on each page change.

- users don't get a "white flash" while the browser is waiting for a page to display, making it "feel" faster.

In the future, InstantClick will adopt preloading on "touchstart" so that mobile devices can preload too, add a progress bar for users with a really slow connection, and even provide stats on how much addition load InstantClick puts on a server.
