Premium APIs Fill the Gap for Twitter Developers

Twitter has a long (and some would argue "storied") relationship with developers but a new program the company is making available could most certainly reverse both groups' fortunes.

The company just introduced a new tool for developers, called Premium API, which is designed to provide access to more of the social network's data than is currently available for free but at a lower price than its enterprise access (which can be expensive for all use cases).

Initially, developers will reportedly get access to the past 30 days of Twitter data, but should provide access to the full data history in the near future. Pricing for the public beta of the tool starts at $149/month.

Access to the full-firehouse of Twitter's data can be cost prohibitive (running into the millions in some cases) for most enterprises, so this is a strong addition to their existing developer offerings that will likely make it more feasible for independent developers or small and medium agencies and platforms to leverage.
